Overton School Logo

Officially opening in 1958, John Overton High School has seen decades of cultural change and growth. Now busting at 2,000+ students, the original crest no longer represented the current era and energy. A timeless “O” icon was settled on to represent a modern striving for excellence and self respect.

Since the student body referred to their school as, “Johnny O”, a mascot was envisioned as well — a cheeky approach to the historic namesake and mid 19th century friend of Andrew Jackson.
